About Us
Shinagawa-USA (formerly FMP, Inc.) has been producing custom formulated mold powders since the mid-1980's. Under a licensing agreement with the Shinagawa Refractories Company of Japan and our own development, a series of technologically advanced continuous casting mold powders have been developed and produced (see our products page for more information).
In 2006, FMP was purchased by Shinagawa Refractories and is now Shinagawa Advanced Materials, Inc (Shinagawa-USA). All key personnel continue to be directly involved in Shinagawa-USA's daily operations.
In addition to our domestically made mold powders, we can supply a full line of products from Shinagawa Refractories.
Our North American Production facility is located in Mogadore, Ohio. This plant houses manufacturing systems and our Quality Assurance Testing Laboratory. Several production methods are available to our customers along with the capability to monitor the physical and chemical properties of the powders produced.
